Integrated Access Control System with Photo ID, CCTV

City Furniture, having started out in 1971 as a small waterbed retailer, is now the largest regional furniture super center in South Florida. The new 600,000 square foot showroom & warehouse facility was completed in December 2001.  Micro Security provided design / build security services for this large facility in a new construction environment.

It was very important for the warehouse, showroom, and administrative offices to have strict pedestrian traffic control to maximize safety, protect intellectual property, and minimize inventory loss.

Micro Security, in this case, installed a Checkpoint Access Control System throughout the City Furniture facility.  The checkpoint system, in turn, is integrated with the facilities alarm and CCTV functions, as well as controlling access to remote showrooms throughout South Florida. The human resource department processes Photo ID badging with the assistance of an Elton badging printer.

As a system integration specialist, Micro Security created a design that includes a commercial alarm system with partitioned zones, and 32 card readers to accommodate 2,000 cardholders.  By using state-of-the-art false alarm resistant infrared motion detection the customer has an extremely flexible, yet very reliable, 24-hour monitored UL alarm service.

Micro Security has provided the complete systems integration solution for The City Furniture Head Quarters Building, including a 24/7/365 onsite service contract.

“We are very proud of the premier City Furniture retail showcase and distribution center, and I am glad to have chosen the professional security services of Micro Security Solutions.  The support and services of Micro Security, in planning, and implementing, our new integrated security system was key to us getting our new facility up and running on schedule.  Their expertise on big systems integration was greatly appreciated.”
